AfroTech NFC Vinyl Keychain Activation

For AfroTech, we developed a custom black acrylic keychain inspired by a vinyl record — a subtle nod to the Black Radio Experience and cultural connection to music.

The piece featured:

  • Matte black acrylic body with engraved vinyl groove detailing

  • Silver hardware for a clean, premium finish

  • Front-facing Lexus logo application

  • Embedded NFC technology

Concept + Production

Our team developed the original concept and oversaw full-scale production.

From creative direction through manufacturing, we:

  • Designed the vinyl-inspired form factor

  • Engineered NFC integration within the acrylic structure

  • Managed material sourcing and hardware specifications

  • Produced the units at large scale for event distribution

This was not a prototype — it was a fully executed, high-volume activation asset.

Physical to Digital Integration

The embedded NFC chip connected directly to a curated Lexus playlist, allowing attendees to:

  • Tap the keychain with their phone

  • Instantly access the Lexus listening experience

  • Extend engagement beyond the AfroTech event footprint
